Are you planning to buy Yamaha's first electric scooter and want all crucial details in one place before you decide? We have got you covered. The EC-06, which went on sale earlier this year, is the Japanese brand's first electric two-wheeler for the country. It is developed through a partnership with homegrown EV maker River Mobility, and is closely related to the River Indie. That said, the EC-06 electric scooter carries its own distinct identity and a familiar Yamaha badge. Here's a clear breakdown of the Yamaha EC-06 price, range, top speed and other features.
Yamaha EC-06 Price
Yamaha launched the EC-06 on February 2, 2026, at Rs 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The EV can be had in only a single Bluish White colour and one fully loaded variant. Hence, there
are no confusing trim choices to weigh up. Yamaha has begun sales of its first-ever electric scooter in select cities through Yamaha's Blue Square dealerships, and bookings are underway both online and at showrooms.
Yamaha EC-06 Battery, Range and Charging
The EC-06 comes with a fixed 4kWh battery pack that Yamaha says offers a certified range of 169 kilometres on a single charge. Charging can be done using a regular household socket. A full 0 to 100% charge takes around 10 hours, while 0 to 80% is covered in roughly 8 hours. The battery is backed by a three-year or 30,000 km warranty, and both motor and battery carry an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
Yamaha EC-06 Performance and Top Speed
The scooter uses an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor rated at 6.7 kW (8.98hp) and offers a 26Nm of torque. It boasts a top speed of 79km/h. Yamaha has equipped its EV with three riding modes (Eco, Standard and Power). There's a reverse mode to ease low-speed parking.
Yamaha EC-06 Features and Hardware
The Yamaha electric scooter comes fitted with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. It gets 200mm disc brakes at both ends tied to a Combi Brake System. The scooter rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. As for features, riders benefit from an LCD console with smartphone connectivity, 24.5 litres of under-seat storage with a boot lamp, full-LED lighting, hill-hold assist, and regenerative braking. The scooter measures 1,995mm in length, 765mm in width, and 1,153mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,354mm and a ground clearance of 145mm. The kerb weight stands at 132 kg.
