India has announced significant benefits on its mid-capacity motorcycles, the Z650 and Z650RS. Both models are now available with a cashback offer of Rs 20,000, valid until September 30, 2025. The Z650 is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Z650RS carries a price tag of Rs 7.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
This limited-period offer comes ahead of an expected price increase under the new GST 2.0 tax structure. Under the revised regime, motorcycles with an engine capacity above 350cc have moved from the previous 28 percent tax bracket to a higher 40 percent bracket. As a result, prices of several premium motorcycles, including the Z650 and Z650RS, are expected to rise once the new tax rates are implemented. Kawasaki has not yet released the updated
prices.

The Z650 and Z650RS cater to two distinct market segments. The Z650 is positioned as a middleweight streetfighter, while the Z650RS adopts a neo-retro design inspired by classic Kawasaki models. Despite their differing styles and ergonomics, both motorcycles are powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. This unit produces 68 hp and 64 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
