Skoda is preparing an updated Skoda Slavia for India, expected to arrive by late 2026 with a fresh face, a richer cabin as well as a new gearbox option. For anyone currently cross-shopping the sedan against the Hyundai Verna and Honda City, that's worth pausing on because a mid-cycle update like this usually means a price bump too. Here's what's expected to change, based on test mules seen so far and patterns from Skoda's other recent facelifts in India, like the Kushaq.
Skoda Slavia Facelift - What Could Change?
The biggest visual change is expected up front with a redesigned grille similar to what Skoda gave the Kushaq, along with reworked bumpers and a new LED headlamp design. Skoda may also add a connected lighting element across the nose, something we've seen on the Kodiaq too. At
the back, expect revised tail-lamps and a new bumper, possibly with illuminated badging. The overall silhouette isn't changing. So this remains a refresh instead of a full redesign.
Will the Cabin and Features Get an Upgrade?
Inside, the layout stays familiar but Skoda is expected to carry over the 10.25-inch touchscreen while adding a bigger digital driver's display borrowed from the Skoda Kushaq along with front parking sensors. New upholstery and trim finishes are likely too and there's a chance Skoda extends the Kushaq's rear seat massage function to the Slavia as well.
Features like the single-pane sunroof, wireless charging, 8-speaker audio along with six airbags as standard should continue unchanged. None of this rewrites what the Slavia is but it should narrow the equipment gap with rivals that already offer more tech for the price.
Will the Engine and Gearbox Change Too?
Mechanically, the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines are expected to stay exactly as they are, so don't expect more power. What's likely to change is the automatic option on the smaller engine with the current 6-speed torque converter expected to be swapped for an 8-speed unit. This will mirror the update Skoda already made on the Kushaq.
The 1.5 TSI should continue with its 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Given the added kit and the new transmission, prices are likely to move up from the current Rs 10-18.19 lakh range, so buyers waiting for the facelift should budget for that before deciding whether to wait or buy now.
