Force Motors announced that it has attained a remarkable milestone of producing 2 lakh Mercedes-Benz engines from its state-of-the-art production facility in Chakan, Pune. The celebratory 2,00,000th engine was a 6-cylinder M256 petrol unit for the GLS 450 SUV. The significant milestone speaks volumes about the trust and the long-standing collaboration between the two automotive giants.
The partnership between Force Motors and Mercedes-Benz spans nearly three decades. In 1997, the automotive giants joined hands to strengthen local manufacturing in India, with Force Motors producing high-quality engines and axles for a range of Mercedes-Benz models assembled in the country.
Over the years, the bond between these two companies has grown stronger.
Mercedes-Benz has expanded its local production footprint in India, assembling several of its luxury vehicles at its Pune-based facility. Force Motors has played a vital role in supporting this expansion with smooth localisation while maintaining the premium quality expected from the German luxury carmaker.
Beyond the production numbers, the celebration sheds light upon the success of Indo-German industrial collaboration. As global automakers increasingly look towards India for reliable manufacturing and sourcing, Force Motors has emerged as a trusted partner capable of delivering advanced engineering solutions on a global scale. With the rollout of its 200,000th Mercedes-Benz engine, Force Motors has further strengthened its position in India's automotive manufacturing sector. The milestone engine: M256 six-cylinder petrol, is known for its refinement, performance, and advanced engineering. As a key celebratory unit, it highlights the trust Mercedes-Benz places in the manufacturing processes and quality control systems of Force Motors. The most recent milestone also reflects on engineering excellence and the country's growing role in the global vehicle supply chain.
