Renault has carved a unique space in India with the Renault Triber, a compact MPV that offers 7 seats in a small footprint. Starting at just Rs 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom), the Triber is one of the most affordable ways to own a 7-seater car in the country.
Size And Design
One of the biggest advantages of the Triber is its size. It is under 4 meters in length, which makes it easy to drive and park in city traffic. Despite its compact size, it offers a 7-seater layout, thanks to smart interior design. The wheelbase of 2636 mm helps create enough room inside for passengers. It also comes with 182 mm ground clearance, which is useful for bad roads and speed breakers.
Engine
The Triber is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine (999 cc). It produces 72 PS power and
96 Nm torque, which is enough for daily city driving. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT (automatic). The mileage is around 18 to 20 kmpl, depending on the variant, making it a fuel-efficient option for families.
Seating System
The biggest highlight of the Triber is its modular seating setup. The third row is completely removable, which means you can choose between carrying more people or more luggage. With all seats in place, boot space is limited. But once the third row is removed, it offers up to 625 litres of luggage space. The Triber can be used as a 7-seater for family trips, a 5-seater with extra boot space and even a 2-seater for carrying large items.

Features
The Triber offers several useful features for everyday driving. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in higher variants. Other features include digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents for both 2nd and 3rd row, steering-mounted controls and wireless charger. These features make the car more practical and comfortable.
Safety Features
Safety has improved in recent updates. The Triber offers up to 6 airbags in top variants, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). It also received a 4-star Global NCAP safety rating (2021), which is a strong point in this segment.
Variants And Options
The Triber is available in multiple variants like RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ, giving buyers flexibility based on budget and features. The top variants offer more comfort and technology, while the base variant focuses on essential features. The Renault Triber is not about power or performance. It is about space, flexibility, and value for money.
