Tata Tiago EV Smart: Battery Options And Performance
The Tata Tiago EV Smart variant is powered by a 19.2kWh high-energy-density lithium-ion battery
and a 45 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. It generates 110Nm of torque and has a 0 to 60km/h acceleration time of 6.2 seconds. The model comes equipped with multiple drive modes, a 3.3 kW AC charger, and a liquid-cooled thermal management system for the battery and motor.
The smaller battery pack is claimed to offer a range of up to 226 kilometres on a single charge. Tata Motors also offers the hatchback with a larger 24kWh battery pack on higher variants, which provides a claimed range of up to 285 kilometres.
Tata Tiago EV Smart: Safety Kit
Tata has not skimped on safety essentials in its base variant. It comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, an i-TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and a high-beam alert function. Central locking with a key is also available.

Although positioned as the base trim, the Smart variant comes with a decent list of features. It gets a Fabricia Luxe dashboard, Sportluxe steering wheel, premium melange fabric seats, chrome-finished door handles, and 14-inch steel wheels. Buyers also get access to a digital instrument cluster, fully automatic climate control, multiple drive modes (City and Sport), regenerative braking with selectable regen levels, and a rotary drive selector. The Smart variant also benefits from Tata’s iRA. ev connected car technology, which offers over 40 connected features. The Tata Tiago EV Smart is priced at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the price with battery included. Tata is offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme with the hatch, which reduces the upfront cost of the variant to Rs 4.69 lakh.
In this case, you will pay the battery cost separately from the vehicle price, with a usage fee of Rs 2.6 per kilometre. This makes the base Tiago EV a more accessible option for first-time EV buyers
