Honda has officially unveiled the all-new ZR-V in India. This marks the debut of the brand's global hybrid SUV in the country. Positioned as Honda's flagship SUV for the Indian market, the ZR-V arrives with the company's 2.0-litre e:HEV strong-hybrid powertrain, a premium feature set and advanced driver assistance systems. The SUV has already crossed 8 lakh cumulative sales globally since its introduction in 2022 and will be imported into India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin from July 2026.
Honda ZR-V Gets 2.0-Litre Strong Hybrid Powertrain
The biggest highlight of the ZR-V is Honda's 2.0-litre direct-injection Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with a dual-motor e:HEV hybrid system. The setup produces a combined 181 bhp and 315 Nm of torque, while
claimed fuel efficiency stands at 22.79 kmpl. Honda says the system automatically switches between Electric, Hybrid and Engine drive modes depending on driving conditions, eliminating the need for driver intervention. Drivers can also choose between Normal, Sport and Eco modes.
The SUV is underpinned by a chassis featuring MacPherson strut front suspension, a multi-link rear suspension and Electric Power Steering. According to Honda, the focus has been on delivering sedan-like driving characteristics while retaining SUV practicality.
