The 2026 Renault Kwid will be launched in India on July 3, embracing a new avatar almost seven years after the first proper facelift in 2019. Though exact details are still under wraps, the updated hatchback is expected to arrive with a new design, more technology, and improved safety. That said, Renault is expected to retain the hatchback market appeal with its budget-friendly price tag. As the launch is around the corner, price expectations for the hatchback have started to build up among buyers. Here's how much you can expect the 2026 Renault Kwid to cost in its revamped version.
2026 Renault Kwid Price Expectation
The current model of the Kwid starts at Rs 4.30 lakh and reaches up to Rs 5.99 lakh (both, ex-showroom). Given a high number of anticipated updates across design
and features, the 2026 Renault Kwid is expected to carry a considerable premium. Prices for the entry-level hatchback could start at around Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Even with the anticipated price revision, the upcoming new Kwid should remain a strong alternative for first-time buyers and customers looking for an affordable city car. Once launched, it will renew its rivalry with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, S-Presso and Tata Tiago.
2026 Renault Kwid Design and Feature Changes
The upcoming Kwid will have a significant overhaul after a long time, and the update would bring it in line with the new design language of the French automaker in India, already seen on the Triber. We can expect the model to get a revised front end in the form of Y-shaped LED daytime running lights connected by a slim grille carrying Renault's logo. The bumper design is also likely to be tweaked for a more modern and contemporary look. At the rear, the Y-shaped lighting theme is expected to continue with new taillamps, making the hatchback look more contemporary. Sideways, the Renault car is likely to come with updated wheel covers and new body cladding.
The interior is likely to benefit from new upholstery and a theme. Features-wise, the 2026 Kwid could sport a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, alongside a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Other expected features include automatic climate control, wireless phone charging and push-button start. In terms of safety, the updated Kwid will keep the majority of its existing features, while potentially adding front parking sensors and structural improvements.
2026 Renault Kwid: Engine
Mechanically, the 2026 Renault Kwid is expected to retain the familiar 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 68hp of power and 92Nm of torque. Transmission options are also expected to remain the same ( a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT).
