Nissan is all set to be on a mission to bring fresh energy and excitement to the Japanese car market, as under its Re:Nissan plan, the company has unveiled a lineup of vehicles that represent its future
vision, which combines innovation, electrification and emotion. The limelight of this lineup are the all-new Elgrand, legendary Patrol SUV and Ariya electric crossover.
These models are part of Nissan’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Japan, while also showcasing its global focus on smarter, more sustainable mobility. According to Nissan CEO Ivan Espinosa, the company wants to “reignite the spirit” of Japanese driving by offering vehicles that are intelligent, exciting and true to Nissan’s spirit.
All-New Elgrand
First introduced in 1997, the Elgrand became famous as Japan’s “premium minivan,” which was known for its roomy and luxurious interiors. Now, Nissan is preparing to launch a new fourth-generation Elgrand in summer 2026, which will feature advanced technology, elegant design and smooth electrified performance.
The new Elgrand will run on Nissan’s e-POWER hybrid system and come with the e-4ORCE electric all-wheel-drive technology for a smoother, safer and more stable ride. Inside, passengers will enjoy a lounge-like cabin with plush “zero gravity” seats, dual 14.3-inch displays, a 22-speaker Bose sound system, and ambient lighting. The design reflects “Timeless Japanese Futurism,” with Kumiko-inspired patterns and beautiful colors like Fuji Dawn and Shigoku.
Nissan Patrol
Another exciting announcement is the return of the Nissan Patrol to Japan in fiscal year 2027. Known worldwide as a tough and capable SUV, the Patrol is built for both city comfort and rugged adventures. It hasn’t been sold in Japan since 2007 and its comeback shows Nissan’s promise to deliver vehicles that inspire confidence and freedom.
Ariya
Nissan’s popular Ariya electric SUV is getting a major update later this fiscal year. The updated version includes a sleeker design, Google-powered infotainment, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) features that let the car power other devices and improved suspension for a quieter and more comfortable ride.
Together, these models highlight Nissan’s renewed energy and its focus on intelligent mobility with vehicles that are not just practical, but engaging. From the smallest city car to the mightiest SUV, Nissan’s future is shaping up to be smarter, cleaner and full of excitement.
