In a move aimed at improving emergency response, the Bangalore Police has added the Honda CB350 motorcycle to its Quick Response Team (QRT) fleet. The initiative comes after Honda India Foundation (HIF) donated 50 specially equipped motorcycles under its ‘Sadak Sahayak: Surakshit Marg, Surakshit Jiwan’ project.

The handover ceremony in Bengaluru saw the presence of Karnataka’s Home Minister, Dr G Parameshwara, along with senior officials from the state government and representatives from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India. The new QRT motorcycles are intended to give police officers the tools they need to reach critical locations faster, improving response
times in emergencies and enhancing overall public safety.
Each Honda CB350 in the QRT fleet has been customised for rapid deployment in busy urban areas and sensitive zones. The modifications include revolving flashers, blinkers, a public announcement system, a siren, a flashlight, side and rear storage boxes, and two safety helmets for officers. These additions make it easier for personnel to respond quickly and safely to incidents, whether it’s an accident, medical emergency, or law enforcement situation.

The foundation plans to roll out a total of 300 QRT motorcycles across several states, including Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, by the end of this year. The programme aligns with Honda’s global vision of creating a collision-free society by 2050. Bangalore is not the first city to benefit from HIF’s efforts. Earlier, 200 QRT motorcycles were provided to police forces in Gujarat, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan, helping local authorities manage traffic and respond to emergencies.
