Yamaha has increased prices of the entire R15 range in India, making the popular entry-level sportbike costlier across all variants. The latest revision brings a uniform price hike of Rs 4,900 for the R15S, R15 V4 and the top-spec R15M lineup. Following the update, prices now start at Rs 1.56 lakh and go up to Rs 1.96 lakh (ex-showroom). The increase is significant because the R15 already sits at the premium end of the small-capacity sportbike segment and repeated price revisions are gradually pushing the motorcycle closer to bigger-engine alternatives in terms of pricing.
Yamaha R15 Variant-Wise New Prices
After the latest update, the Yamaha R15S now costs Rs 1.56 lakh, up from Rs 1.51 lakh earlier. The R15 V4 range is now priced between Rs 1.71 lakh and Rs 1.76 lakh depending
on the variant and colour option. Meanwhile, the range-topping R15M lineup now costs between Rs 1.86 lakh and Rs 1.96 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Here's the complete ex-showroom price list for all R15 variants for your reference.

The hike has been applied uniformly across the lineup including variants such as the Dark Knight, Racing Blue, MotoGP Edition as well as Carbon Fibre versions. The revision is linked to rising input and logistics costs, although Yamaha has not introduced any new mechanical or feature updates alongside the increase.
For buyers, the revised pricing also means the R15 range now overlaps more closely with motorcycles such as the KTM RC series and Hero Karizma XMR in certain variants despite continuing with a 155cc engine.

Engine And Features Continue Unchanged
Mechanically, the Yamaha R15 lineup remains unchanged. All variants continue using the 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). The motor produces around 18.1 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque while paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The R15 V4 continues offering features such as upside-down front forks, traction control, LED lighting and Bluetooth connectivity through Yamaha’s Y-Connect system. Higher R15M variants additionally get a TFT display, quickshifter and special edition paint schemes inspired by Yamaha’s larger supersport motorcycles.
Despite rising prices, the R15 continues seeing strong demand because it remains one of the few fully-faired motorcycles in the segment offering supersport-style ergonomics and track-focused hardware. However, for younger buyers and first-time sportbike customers, affordability is increasingly becoming part of the conversation as prices edge closer to the Rs 2 lakh mark on-road in several cities.
