The new Nissan Tekton has earned a 5-star safety rating in the most recent round of the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The SUV scored well in both adult and child occupant protection, which shows Nissan's focus on delivering a safe family SUV for Indian buyers. According to the Bharat NCAP assessment, the upcoming Tekton scored 30.49 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP). Nissan Tekton: Adult Occupant Protection Rating
In the Adult Occupant Protection category, the Tekton scored 30.49/32 points, thanks to its solid performance across multiple crash scenarios. The SUV secured 14.49 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test. It exhibited good protection for occupants
in a head-on collision and achieved a perfect 16 out of 16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test. The SUV also cleared the side pole impact test, with an 'Okay'.
Nissan Tekton: Child Occupant Protection Rating Explained
The Nissan Tekton has also performed well in Child Occupant Protection, with 45 out of 49 points. It scored 24 points in the dynamic crash test using child restraint systems (CRS). The SUV also earned a full 12 out of 12 points for CRS installation, which indicates that compatible child seats can be installed correctly and securely. For vehicle assessment, the Tekton received 9 out of 13 points, missing a few points. During testing, Bharat NCAP used the Joie i-Spin 360 i-Size child restraint system for both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies. Both seats were installed in the rear-facing position using ISOFIX anchor points and a support leg, with the setup offering maximum dynamic protection in frontal and side impact tests.
Nissan Tekton SUV: Prices Announced
The Nissan Tekton has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level Visia T160 MT variant, while the range tops out at Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fully loaded Tekna+ T280 DCT. The lineup comprises 12 variants across two turbo-petrol engine options and both manual and dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Nissan has positioned the Tekton competitively in the midsize SUV segment, with prices closely matching key rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate and the Renault Duster.
