Based on several test mule visuals circulating online, it can be confirmed that Skoda is now working on a facelifted version of its Slavia sedan to follow up on the recent launch of the Kushaq facelift SUV. After seeing consistent success since its launch in 2021, the Slavia is now due for a refresh and here are five major updates that we can expect in the new sedan based on the new equipment that Skoda India has in its arsenal, to go along with cars based on the MQB-A0-IN platform.
Current-Gen Skoda Salvia:
1. New 8-Speed Automatic:
This first major update in the Skoda Slavia facelift will be the introduction of the new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission across entry-level and top-end variants. This means that the new automatic will be offered
with both the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine options.
2. Panoramic Sunroof:
The next big update in the Slavia facelift will be the addition of a panoramic sunroof in the top-end trims. Based on the Kushaq facelift, we now know that the MQB platform can support this update. If Skoda manages to work this one out, it would give the Slavia an edge over its competitors.
3. Digital Cockpit And Google AI Companion:
While no major redesign is expected inside the cabin, considerable updates to the tech and gadgets are most likely to appear in the facelift. These would include the new 10.24-inch driver information screen with turn-by-turn navigation and the 10.07-inch infotainment touchscreen with a Google-powered AI companion screen.
4. Rear Seat Massage Function:
Another key update that we can expect to be introduced in the Slavia facelift is the introduction of a massage function in the rear passenger seats. This would make Slavia's passenger comfort distinct from competitors and increase its appeal for chauffeur-driven buyers.
5. Design Updates:
Apart from the above mentioned updates, the new Slavia will get a major redesign on the front and back. This time around it is expected to get a complete LED package for the headlamps, fog lamps and taillamps. It could also offer sequential indicators at the rear and multiple alloy wheel options across its variant lineup.
In terms of launch timeline, the Skoda Slavia facelift is expected to arrive in India by late 2026. Ky highlights from the existing model, such as the 5-star Global NCAP crash safety rating and powerful turbo-petrol engines, are expected to remain unchanged.
