Mahindra has lined up three new SUV launches in India before March 2027, covering everything from a Scorpio-N update to an all-new sub-Rs 10 lakh model. If you're holding off on a Mahindra purchase, this timeline matters since at least one of these will likely shift what's considered "feature-rich" in its price bracket. Here's what's confirmed so far, based on test mules already spotted on Indian roads and Mahindra's own investor commentary.
What's Changing on the Updated Mahindra Thar 3-Door?
The three-door Thar is also due for an update and it's expected to borrow several styling cues from its five-door Roxx sibling rather than get a ground-up redesign. That means circular LED headlamps, C-shaped daytime running lights and a six-slat split grille are likely on the cards along with new alloy wheel
designs and LED taillamps.
Inside, expect a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror along with a centre armrest, none of which the current Thar 3-door offers. The core off-road character and existing engine options aren't expected to change.
When Will the Mahindra Scorpio-N Facelift Launch in India?
Test mules of the updated Scorpio-N are already doing the rounds with a launch expected around Diwali 2026. The bigger changes are inside the cabin: a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen as well as a matching 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster carrying ADAS alerts.
A high-definition 360-degree camera and blind-view monitor are also expected, borrowing tech Mahindra already uses on its electric SUVs. Mechanically, don't expect surprises, the existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engines are likely to carry over unchanged paired with 6-speed manual or automatic options. Pricing should land close to the current range, with a modest bump for the added kit.
Is the Mahindra Vision S Going to Be Priced Under Rs 10 Lakh?
Yes, that's the expectation. The Vision S is a new and boxy compact SUV built on Mahindra's NU_IQ platform, a modular architecture designed to support petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains over time.
At launch, expect a 1.5-litre diesel borrowed from the XUV 3XO along with a petrol option with hybrid and EV variants following later. If Mahindra holds to its sub-Rs 10 lakh target, the Vision S would directly take on the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Skoda Kylaq, a segment where pricing discipline matters more than outright features.
