Toyota has released a second teaser of the next-generation Hilux. This time showing the front and rear ends clearly ahead of its India launch on July 28. The new images reveal a hexagonal-slat grille, a revised front bumper as well as bold 'Toyota' lettering across the tailgate while confirming a jump from a 7.8-inch touchscreen to a 12.3-inch unit inside. This matters for pickup buyers since Toyota is expected to price the new Hilux between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 38 lakh and the added cabin tech could be the deciding factor against its only real rival, the Isuzu V-Cross. Here's everything the second teaser actually confirms.
What Changes On The Outside
The front end gets a new grille with multiple hexagonal slats alongside a completely revised bumper. This gives the truck a more
aggressive face than the outgoing model. Toyota's teaser shows the side profile staying largely similar to before and the India-spec truck continues as a double-cab-only offering, matching how it's currently sold here.
At the rear, large 'Toyota' lettering replaces the previous badge treatment and the taillamp section has also been redesigned to match the global-spec version already revealed in other markets.
What's New Inside The Cabin
The clearest confirmed upgrade is the touchscreen, growing from 7.8 inches on the current Hilux to a 12.3-inch unit and paired with a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and new upholstery throughout the cabin. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support comes as part of this touchscreen upgrade, addressing one of the more dated aspects of the outgoing model's interior. Beyond the screens and trim, no other interior changes have been confirmed through this teaser.
What Stays The Same Mechanically
Toyota isn't expected to change the engine at all with the new Hilux likely continuing with the same 2.8-litre diesel producing 201 bhp and 500 Nm on the automatic variant. One functional change worth noting: while the current Hilux uses an electronic differential lock, the new version is expected to switch to a physical toggle for the rear differential instead alongside a low-range transfer case carried over unchanged.
Buyers should treat the mechanical specifications as unofficial until Toyota's formal launch, since none of this has been directly confirmed by the company yet.
