Mercedes-Benz CLA EV Set To Debut In April - Check Out The Photos

Mercedes-Benz India is set to launch the all-electric CLA EV in April and it claims a WLTP range of up to 792 km on a single charge in its most efficient version. WLTP is a global test cycle used to estimate real-world range and even after adjusting for Indian conditions, this figure signals a car built for long distances without frequent charging stops, which is a key concern for many first-time EV buyers.

The CLA badge returns to India in a completely new avatar, as visually, the car makes its electric identity obvious. Up front it has a glossy black closed grille with illuminated three-pointed stars, flanked by twin-pod LED headlamps joined by a thin light strip. The same light signature continues at the rear, connecting the tail-lamps.

Looking at the design profile it has the coupe-like silhouette remains, now enhanced with flush door handles and 17- to 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels designed to reduce drag and improve efficiency.

Internationally, the CLA EV is offered in two versions,

both powered by a 85 kWh battery pack-

• CLA 250+ with rear-mounted motor, 268 hp and 335 Nm, 792 km WLTP range
• CLA 350 with dual-motor setup, 349 hp and 515 Nm for stronger performance

Mercedes-Benz India is expected to evaluate which configuration suits local demand best, but the headline figure remains the exceptional range from the larger battery.

Interior

From the inside, the CLA EV has the brand’s latest digital design language. A 10.25-inch driver display pairs with a 14-inch central touchscreen, and buyers can even opt for a front passenger screen. The three-spoke steering wheel with touch controls, carbon-fibre trim and a fixed panoramic glass roof add to the premium and futuristic feel.

Comfort features in CLA EV include powered and heated front seats with memory and automatic climate control. Optional upgrades extend to a 16-speaker Burmester audio system, head-up display, and dual-zone climate control.

Safety

Mercedes has loaded the CLA EV with safety technologies like eight airbags, 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic parking brake, and Level 2 ADAS for assisted driving on highways.

This launch is more than just another EV addition as it builds on the momentum created by the 2026 GLS and EQS Celebration Editions and signals Mercedes-Benz’s deeper push into electric mobility for India.
