Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported a strong performance in Q3 FY26, driven by higher SUV demand and rising electric vehicle adoption. The company recorded total passenger vehicle sales of more
than 1.71 lakh units in the domestic and international markets during the quarter, marking a 22.3% year-on-year growth over Q3 FY25. This performance helped Tata Motors strengthen its position in the Indian passenger vehicle market, supported by consistent demand for models such as the Nexon, Punch and Tiago, along with steady momentum in the EV segment.

Tata Motors: Overall Sales Performance In Q3 FY26
During Q3 FY26, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles achieved its highest-ever quarterly wholesales, with volumes rising from about 1.40 lakh units in Q3 FY25 to 1.71 lakh units. Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at over 1.68 lakh units, up 20.9% YoY, while international business volumes increased sharply, albeit from a lower base. The overall growth reflects a recovery in consumer demand and improved market conditions during the festive and year-end period.
Tata Motors Sales: Domestic And International Market Split
In December 2025 alone, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sold 50,519 units, registering a 14.1% YoY growth. Domestic PV sales accounted for the bulk of volumes, while international business sales rose to 2,397 units in Q3 FY26, compared to 405 units a year earlier. This translated into a significant percentage jump in exports, contributing to the company’s overall quarterly performance.
Tata Motors Sales: EV And Multi-Powertrain Contribution
Electric vehicles continued to play an important role in Q3 FY26. Tata Motors recorded 24,103 EV sales during the quarter, representing a 49.5% YoY growth. The company attributed this growth to improved range, enhanced charging capabilities and initiatives such as lifetime battery warranty. Alongside EVs, CNG models and SUVs also delivered strong volumes.

Tata Motors Sales: Model-Wise Highlights And Market Impact
The Nexon emerged as a key growth driver, leading passenger vehicle sales in October and November and remaining on track to retain leadership for Q3 FY26 with around 64,000 units sold. The Punch continued to dominate its segment, while the Tiago posted steady growth among hatchbacks. Recent unveilings, including petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari and the launch of the Sierra, further strengthened the portfolio during the quarter.
