Honda Civic Type R HRC Concept Overview
The Honda Civic Type R HRC Concept will make its world premiere at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026. Built by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), Honda’s motorsports arm, this concept takes the current Civic Type R and incorporates racing-influenced enhancements aimed at refining performance attributes derived from track experience. The vehicle focuses on handling and dynamic response rather than production changes, showcasing how motorsport insights feed back into future vehicle engineering.
Honda Prelude HRC Concept Details
Honda will also present the Prelude HRC Concept, based on the all-new Prelude that went on sale in late 2025. This concept model features performance-oriented HRC components designed to adjust driving dynamics over the standard Prelude. The HRC parts aim to bring a more engaging driving experience, emphasising the transfer of racing-derived technology to a road-focused coupe platform.
Honda Civic e:HEV RS Prototype
Another highlight at the Honda stand will be the Civic e:HEV RS Prototype. The prototype previews a sportier variant of the hybrid Civic e:HEV, featuring the brand’s S+ Shift control technology intended to enhance driver engagement and responsiveness. This model follows the Prelude in adopting the S+ Shift system, which integrates hybrid powertrain control with sport-oriented driving behaviour.
Racing Machines And Interactive Displays
Beyond concept cars, Honda’s exhibit is set to feature racing machines including the Honda HRC Prelude-GT, a GT500-class racing car slated to compete in the Super GT 2026 Series. A racing simulator built around the NSX-GT, a machine with history in Super GT competition, will offer visitors an immersive experience. These displays underscore the connection between Honda’s racing activities and production vehicle development.
