Kawasaki is all geared up to bring back one of its iconic adventure motorcycles, the KLE 500, at the EICMA 2025. This iconic bike was originally launched in 1991, the KLE nameplate is set for a modern renewal and the fans of adventure bikes are eagerly waiting for its arrival.
While Kawasaki has kept most technical details under wraps, enthusiasts expect the new KLE 500 to borrow the engine from the Ninja series. This means probably a 450cc parallel-twin engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox which will be capable of producing around 45 hp and 42.6 Nm of torque, making it a cool yet adventurous bike for both city and off-road experience.
The teaser video hints at design elements inspired by the older KLE model, including a low-mounted front fender,
steel box-section swingarm and a 21-inch front spoke wheel which will be supported by upside-down (USD) forks. These characteristics signify the brand is keeping the bike true to its adventure roots while adding modern touches.

As of now, Kawasaki has not confirmed the India launch, but the KLE 500 is likely to arrive as a completely knocked down unit in 2026, placing it in a premium pricing segment similar to the Ninja 500. When it reaches India, it will compete with bikes already available in the same segment.

With its combination of iconic design, modern engineering, and adventure-ready features, the Kawasaki KLE 500 is expected to be an exciting addition for both new riders and experienced motorbike enthusiasts.
The KLE seems to be positioned by Kawasaki as a more off-road-focused substitute for the Versys, which is primarily intended for road riders. In the 400–500cc dual-sport motorcycle market, which has been expanding gradually in recent years, expect it to compete with other models. As a crucial component of Kawasaki's plan to bolster its adventure motorbike lineup, the KLE is anticipated to make its Indian market debut in 2026 after making its debut in Europe.
