The Hero Mavrick 440 appears set for a return, as a new version of the motorcycle has been spotted during a television commercial shoot in India. The sighting has sparked speculation that Hero MotoCorp
may be preparing to reintroduce the model with updates following its short-lived first run.
Why Was Hero Mavrick 440 Discontinued From India?
The previous Mavrick 440, launched as a more affordable sibling to the Harley-Davidson X440, struggled to gain traction in the market and was quietly delisted from Hero’s website earlier this year. Now, the brand seems to be giving it another chance; this time with design tweaks and possibly upgraded features aimed at addressing earlier shortcomings.
How Will The New Mavrick 440 Be Different?
Among the visible changes, the new Mavrick 440 features a gold-finished upside-down fork, replacing the conventional telescopic setup from the outgoing model. The motorcycle also sports a new matte grey paint finish, offering a more premium look compared to the earlier glossy colours. Another key update is the engine casing, which now carries a brushed bronze or copper tone instead of black, adding a touch of contrast to the overall styling.

Spy visuals from the TVC shoot also suggest the presence of a TFT display, a feature that was missing in the previous version. If confirmed, it is likely the same unit used in the Harley-Davidson X440, complete with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Which Engine Will The New Hero Mavrick 440 Have?
Under the skin, no major mechanical changes have been confirmed yet. The earlier model was powered by a 440cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 27 hp and 36 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. It remains to be seen if Hero will tweak the tuning or offer performance improvements in the updated version.

The decision to revive the Mavrick 440 could be a calculated move by Hero MotoCorp to strengthen its presence in the premium motorcycle segment. With growing competition from brands like Royal Enfield, Bajaj, and Triumph, Hero’s updated 440cc model could fit right in. While Hero has not made any official announcement yet, the TVC shoot strongly suggests that a relaunch may be on the horizon.
