Royal Enfield and Hero MotoCorp are anticipated to expand their adventure bike range in India soon. Currently, the Indian ADV segment include popular bikes such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure, TVS Apache RTX 300, and Hero Xpulse 200 4V, all of which are known for their touring and off-road build and design. They are preferred by young and seasoned riding enthusiasts for comfortable long-distance touring, upright ergonomics, high ground clearance, and long-travel suspension. Here are some of the adventure bikes that are likely to launch in India soon. If you are planning to purchase or upgrade to an ADV, let's check features and expected price of these bikes.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 750
Royal Enfield is working on the more powerful version of the Himalayan,
which has been spotted testing on the roads several times for now. Called the Royal Enfield Himalayan 750, the bike is expected to offer major upgrades in terms of performance, touring capability, and technology, compared to its existing 452cc counterpart. Mechanically, it will pack a new 750cc twin-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This engine could be based on the existing 650cc platform, but tweaked for more power and torque.
The bike is also expected to get a completely new chassis, suspension as well as pack features such as a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, adjustable visor, cruise control, smartphone connectivity, and split seats. The bike is estimated to carry a starting price tag of around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hero Xpulse 421
The bigger-capacity Xpulse, which was showcased as a concept at EICMA 2024, is also anticipated to hit the Indian streets this year. The bike will most likely retain some of the design cues of the concept, including a gold-finished USD fork, and a compact mudguard. It will have a more aggressive and rally-inspired design with a high-mounted exhaust, and a sleek tail section.
In its production form, the larger Xpulse is likely to come with a new 421cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that could produce around 40-45hp. It is expected to have a 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch. Other key details include spoke wheels, and monoshock suspension. The Hero bike is expected to launch the XPulse 421 in India by the end of the year at a starting price of around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom).
