If you have been planning to bring home the Hyundai Venue, here’s a quick heads-up: the popular compact SUV has just become slightly more expensive. Hyundai Motor India has revised prices for select variants of the Venue, with increases ranging between Rs 5,000 and Rs 20,000.
What Exactly Has Changed?
The price hike affects both petrol and diesel versions of the Venue, but not every variant has been touched. The biggest jump is seen in the HX5 1.2-litre petrol manual variant, which now costs Rs20,000 more. Its updated price stands at Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom).
Other petrol variants with the same engine like the HX2 and higher trims remain unchanged, which is a bit of relief for buyers eyeing those options. If you are considering the turbo-petrol
automatic versions, there’s a smaller increase. The 1.0-litre turbo DCT variants (HX5 and HX6) are now costlier by Rs 9,000, while the top-spec HX8 DCT gets a modest Rs 5,000 bump.
On the diesel side, Hyundai has increased prices of select trims like HX2, HX5, HX5 AT and HX7 by Rs8,000. However, higher-end automatic diesel variants continue at the same price.

Overall Price Still The Same Range
Despite these changes, the overall price band of the Venue remains unchanged. It still starts at Rs7.99 lakh and goes up to Rs15.69 lakh (ex-showroom). That means Hyundai has adjusted prices within the lineup rather than pushing the entire range upward.
No Changes Under the Hood
Here’s the important part as there are no mechanical or feature updates with this price revision. The engine options, features, and overall package remain exactly the same. So, what you are paying extra for isn’t an upgrade as it’s more of a market-driven correction, something that usually happens toward the end of a financial year.
Why This Matters
For first-time buyers or those new to cars, price hikes like this are quite common. Automakers revise prices due to factors like rising input costs, inflation, or regulatory changes. But here is the key takeaway: if you were planning to buy a specific variant like the HX5 petrol, this change directly impacts your budget. On the other hand, if you’re flexible with variants, you might still find options that haven’t seen any increase.
Still A Strong Contender
Even with the revised pricing, the Venue remains one of Hyundai’s best-selling SUVs in India. It continues to compete with heavyweights like the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Its strong feature list, multiple engine options, and wide variant range keep it relevant in a crowded market. A price hike is never welcome news, but in this case, it’s selective and relatively modest. If the Venue was already on your shortlist, it still makes sense to consider it, just be sure to check the updated pricing of your preferred variant before heading to the showroom.
