Tata Motors has officially unveiled the Tata Punch EV facelift, which gives us a clear idea of what to expect from the updated electric micro-SUV ahead of its India launch, scheduled for February 20. The reveal comes shortly after Tata updated the ICE (petrol) version of the Punch, and attention has now firmly shifted to its electric sibling. Over two years now, the Punch EV first arrived in the Indian market, and in that time, it has emerged as one of Tata’s most successful electric offerings.
The teaser shared on Tata’s official EV social handles, carries a message, which says- “the only thing that runs out — is the road”, clearly hinting at the Punch EV’s usable real-world range and its positioning as a practical everyday electric car. With
registrations of interest already open, Tata seems confident that the facelifted Punch EV will continue the strong momentum built by the current model.
What’s new on the outside?
The most noticeable changes on the Punch EV facelift are at the front. The familiar vertically stacked headlamp layout remains, but the units now appear larger and more angular, giving the SUV a bolder face. The LED Daytime Running Lamps have been retained, and the front-mounted charging port continues to sit neatly between them. The lower bumper area has been redesigned, featuring vertical slats on the grille and a silver-finished faux skid plate, which adds a touch of ruggedness.
From the side, the overall design remains unchanged, however, Tata has introduced a new set of aero-optimised alloy wheels, designed to improve efficiency while also refreshing the look. At the rear, buyers can expect a slightly revised bumper and updated LED tail lamps, likely featuring a connected lightbar inspired by the recently launched Punch facelift. The showcased neon yellow body colour paired with a black roof adds a upgraded and EV-specific vibe and Tata is expected to offer more colour options at launch.

Inside the cabin
While the exterior gets subtle updates, the interior is expected to see minor revisions rather than a full redesign. New upholstery and small dashboard tweaks are likely, while key elements such as the two-spoke steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, and touchscreen infotainment system are expected to be carried over.
Feature-wise, the Punch EV is already well-equipped, and the facelift should retain highlights such as automatic climate control, a six-speaker sound system, keyless entry with push-button start, auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, and an electric sunroof. These features make it one of the most comfortable and tech-loaded cars in its segment.
What about range and performance?
Although Tata has not revealed updated battery or motor details yet, the Punch EV facelift is expected to continue with multiple battery options, including a long-range version. This keeps it attractive for city users as well as buyers who want the confidence of fewer charging stops.
With the facelifted Punch EV, Tata Motors is clearly doubling down on its EV strategy. If pricing remains competitive, the updated Punch EV could once again set the benchmark for affordable electric SUVs in India and strengthen Tata’s leadership in the growing EV space.
