If you love roadsters or simply enjoy the thrill of open-top driving, the BMW Z4 is probably a name you have heard before. Since its launch in 2002, this two-seater roadster has been known for its beautiful design and exciting performance. Now, BMW has announced the Z4 Final Edition, which will be a limited-time version that marks the end of production for this iconic car in March 2026.
The BMW Z4 Final Edition is not just another variant but it is designed to be the final salute to the legendary roadster. Customers will be able to order it only for a short period which is starting in late January 2026. This makes it exclusive and potentially a future collector’s item for car enthusiasts and brand lovers.
What makes this Final Edition instantly
stand out is its Frozen Matt Black exterior paint, a colour that is offered only on this edition. It is paired beautifully with the M High-gloss Shadowline trim, giving the car a bold, aggressive, yet elegant look. BMW also includes high-gloss red M Sport brakes, which not only enhance braking performance but also add a sporty red accent to the exterior. Buyers, however, can still choose other Z4 colours at no extra cost.

From the inside, BMW has added unique touches to make the Final Edition feel even more special. The cabin uses Vernasca leather and Alcantara, with red contrast stitching running across the dashboard, centre console, doors and the sporty M seats. The M Alcantara steering wheel also gets matching red stitching, enhancing its racing-inspired feel. Special Final Edition door sill plates further add a premium and exclusive touch.
The Final Edition is available with all three Z4 engine options - Z4 sDrive20i which produces 197 hp, Z4 sDrive30i which produces 258 hp and Z4 M40i which produces 340 hp. All Final Edition variants can be selected with any transmission option. The Final Edition package costs €4,200 or €7,400 for the sDrive20i since it requires adding the M Sport Package separately.
The Z4 has a rich history, as the first-generation model launched in 2002, replacing the popular Z3, and became known for its long bonnet, sharp handling and perfect 50:50 weight balance. The second-generation Z4 was introduced in 2008 and added a retractable hardtop, making it both stylish and practical. The current Z4, launched in 2018, returned to a lightweight fabric roof and modern technology, staying true to the essence of a pure driver’s car.
With production ending in 2026, the Final Edition serves as a beautiful farewell to a car that has delivered “sheer driving pleasure” for over two decades. For enthusiasts, this is a last opportunity to own BMW’s iconic roadster.
