The Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS Night Editions have been launched in India, priced starting at Rs 1.05 crore and Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom), respectively. The GLE belongs to a premium luxury class that merges comfort and performance for high-end buyers, While its larger sibling, the GLS stands out by delivering a full-size luxury experience with commanding road presence and modern technology. The recently launched Night Editions of these SUVs target those elite buyers and collectors who crave for something more than the standard, with cosmetic upgrades, unique cabin features. Note that the Night Editions are part of exclusive global series and therefore, their availability in our market will be limited.
Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS Night Editions: What’s Different?
The Night Editions instantly mark their distinction
with the darker and sportier personality. Both the GLE and GLS Night Editions are offered in Obsidian Black and a newly introduced Alpine Grey exterior shade. The Alpine Grey colour is exclusive to the Night Edition range, which means buyers will not be available to have it on the regular versions of either model.
The German automaker has also added several gloss black styling elements to distinguish these editions from the standard models. The SUVs get blacked-out wing mirrors, a contrasting black roof as well as gloss black bumper inserts. These details help these special editions to have a stronger road presence and a more performance-oriented look compared to their standard counterparts.
Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS Night Editions: Interior
The GLE, GLS Night Editions pack an array of bespoke elements, including black Nappa leather upholstery comes with Anthracite open-pore oak wood trim. Both of these finishes are not offered on the regular versions.
A heads-up display is now standard across both SUVs, while the Mercedes-Benz GLE Night Edition stands out with an Airmatic suspension as part of the package. Particularly on uneven roads and longer journeys, this kind of suspension system enhances ride comfort and improves overall driving.
Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS Night Editions: Engine Options
Both SUVs in their exclusive Night Edition version have remained the same in terms of the powertrain. The GLE Night Edition continues to be offered with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that makes 270hp and 550Nm, along with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol motor that produces 380hp and 500Nm.
The larger GLS Night Edition is available with a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine that produces 380hp, while the diesel version produces 367hp from its 3.0-litre inline-six unit. A 9-speed automatic gearbox and Mercedes-Benz’s 4Matic all-wheel-drive system remains standard.

The Night Edition models command a noticeable premium over their respective standard versions due to the additional styling elements and equipment upgrades. The GLE Night Edition diesel is priced Rs 5 lakh higher than the standard diesel model. On the other hand, the petrol version carries a premium of Rs 3.50 lakh.

Coming to the the GLS Night Edition, the petrol variant costs Rs 3.50 lakh more than the regular GLS. Meanwhile, the diesel trim is priced Rs 3.30 lakh higher.
