What’s New In The 2026 Updates
For 2026, both the F 900 GS and R 1300 GS receive updated paint schemes and graphics packages, giving them a fresh visual identity. The F 900 GS offers new metallic finishes under
the “Style” and “GS Trophy” trims, while the R 1300 GS introduces a new Racing Red colour and the Option 719 Imperial Blue Metallic in select variants. In addition to the cosmetic updates, BMW Motorrad now includes its “Ultimate Care” break-in service with every new 2026 bike, which offers early-maintenance assurance to owners of GS models.
Performance And Mechanical Consistency
Despite the visual and packaging upgrades, the mechanical heart of the motorcycles remains unchanged. The F 900 GS continues with its 895cc parallel-twin engine delivering approximately 105 hp and 93-95 Nm torque (depending on market spec), making it capable for both spirited rides and long-distance touring.
The R 1300 GS retains its robust 1,300cc boxer twin with around 145 hp of power and 149 Nm of torque. This ensures strong mid-range grunt and stable power delivery that is ideal for fully loaded touring or mixed terrain rides.
Updated Equipment And Touring Readiness
The 2026 R 1300 GS updates also include enhanced protective components and touring-oriented add-ons. For example, certain trims now come with improved hand guards and enhanced engine protection as standard or optional accessories, which is a useful upgrade for adventure travel riders.
Optional packages remain comprehensive, with adjustable suspension (Dynamic ESA), electronic riding modes, ABS Pro, traction control, optional luggage mounts and touring-ready ergonomics. These features preserve the GS lineup’s reputation for comfort and capability over long rides and rough roads.

These include powerful engines, rugged chassis, touring comfort as well as reliable performance. The refreshed colour options give owners a chance to stand out, whereas the optional protection and touring packs improve practicality for long-distance or off-road journeys.
