When it comes to choosing your first stylish motorcycle which is also budget friendly, two names often hit our thoughts- Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin. Looking at the surface, both look cool, classy and fall in the neo-retro category, but getting deeper you will see they appeal to two very different kinds of riders.
Performance
The Hunter 350 carries Royal Enfield’s iconic DNA with a 349cc engine which produces a 27 Nm torque, giving that signature thump and relaxed cruising feel to the riders. However, it feels heavier at 181 kg, which adds that extra charm to this bike but at the same time makes it slightly less agile in city traffic.
The Ronin, on the other hand, has a smaller 225.9cc engine, but it is quick-revving, smooth, and slightly faster
with a 120 km/h top speed. Weighing at 160 kg, it is lightweight and super agile, which is perfect for weaving through traffic or quick rides across city.
Features
The Hunter 350 keeps it fairly simple with a digi-analogue console and optional Tripper navigation, as it sticks to basics, and that’s the part of its charm.
TVS, however, goes all-out with the Ronin, offering a fully digital display, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and even voice assist via its SmartXonnect app. Adding more to the features is all-LED lighting, slipper clutch, and two ABS modes.
Comfort & Ride
Royal Enfield sets up the Hunter for a sportier yet settled ride with slightly rear-set footpegs and firm suspension. Though it is engaging, bumps can feel harsh.
The Ronin’s upside-down front forks and monoshock soak up potholes better, making it more forgiving on rough roads. Its relaxed upright position also suits daily commutes and longer rides whenever needed.

Styling
The Hunter is a true neo-retro beauty, which is inspired by Royal Enfield’s long history. It is timeless and has that instant recognition factor.
The Ronin is bolder and a little unconventional, as some riders and enthusiasts love its fresh, modern-retro design, while others find it mismatched. However, it’s definitely one of those head-turners.
Price
TVS Ronin starts at Rs 1 24 790 whereas Royal Enfield Hunter starts at Rs 1,49,900, which is slightly higher than Ronin.
