Porsche, which is one of the most famous luxury performance carmakers in the world, is all set to launch its newest electric vehicle (EV), the Porsche Cayenne Electric, at 7:30 pm (IST), today. This is a major
step not just for Porsche but also for the future of high-performance electric SUVs.

The Cayenne is already a popular SUV in its petrol form, but now Porsche is adding a fully electric version that will be sold alongside the existing model. Even before the full reveal, the company has teased some key details through their social media platform.
Supercar-Level Power
The Cayenne Electric will be built on Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) design, which is also used in other high-tech EVs. But what really stands out is its power.
The top variant, which will be called the Turbo trim, will produce over 1,000 horsepower and this makes the electric Cayenne more powerful than Porsche’s previous record-holder, the 1,019 hp Taycan Turbo GT. This super power means this SUV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in under 3 seconds and 0-200 kmph in under 8 seconds. These are speeds usually associated with supercars, not family SUVs.
New Tech and Interior
Porsche has worked on giving the Cayenne Electric a refreshed interior experience and we can expect a reworked infotainment system, multiple screens for the driver and passengers. But we still assume that physical buttons and controls will be present, as many car fans appreciate this practicality because touch-only systems can be distracting while driving. The Turbo trim even gets an oil-cooled rear electric motor, which will help the car deliver consistent performance without overheating.

Battery and Range
The new EV will use a 113 kWh battery pack, which is large and should help the SUV to deliver a strong driving range. Porsche will also offer cheaper and less powerful versions, which will be revealed during the full launch. These lower trims will make the Cayenne Electric more accessible to a wider range of buyers.
Even though Porsche has slowed down some of its electric plans, it is not stepping back from electric vehicles. The Cayenne Electric will be its third modern EV after the Taycan and Macan Electric.
