Renault has officially confirmed that the iconic Duster is ready to make a grand comeback and is set to be unveiled on Republic Day, January 26, 2026. Renault India announced that the upcoming model will
carry forward the Duster nameplate, which first entered Indian roads in 2012. Back then, the Duster didn’t just launch, it actually started a revolution, as it was one of the first compact SUVs in the country and with its rugged design, strong engine and comfortable drive made it a favorite among enthusiasts.
Over the years, the Duster earned a loyal fan base, with over 2,00,000 units sold in India and 1.8 million customers worldwide. Its reputation for being tough and reliable turned it into a true legend. Now, after a few years away, Renault is ready to bring that charm back with bigger, bolder and more advanced development.

According to Stephane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Group India, the new Duster will stay true to its roots while embracing modern design and cutting-edge technology. He said, “Renault Duster is more than just a name – it’s a true legend. A symbol of adventure, reliability and innovation, its comeback shows our commitment to the Indian market and our desire to offer vehicles that meet the needs of our customers. New Renault Duster will rely on its iconic heritage while adopting a modern design, advanced technology and enhanced performance.”

The new Duster will be the first vehicle launched under Renault’s “International Game Plan 2027” which is a global strategy focused on innovation and customer-centric design. It is also a part of Renault’s India-specific transformation plan called “Renault. Rethink.”, which aims to strengthen the brand’s position in one of the world’s fastest-growing auto markets.
For fans eager to be among the first to experience the SUV’s return, Renault has also opened a waiting program starting today.
