CFMoto has pulled the wraps off its most powerful adventure bike yet, the 1000MT-X, at EICMA 2025. At first glance, it looks nearly identical to the familiar 800MT-X, but there’s a lot more going on under the skin. The biggest change is the engine; a reworked version of KTM’s latest LC8c parallel-twin used in the 990 Duke and 990 RC R.
This new 947cc motor produces 110 bhp and 105 Nm of torque, a big jump from the 93.9 bhp and 87 Nm of the 800MT-X. The bore and stroke now measure 92.5 mm and 70.4 mm, respectively, and the engine itself is lighter at just 56 kg thanks to a new alloy crankcase and internals designed for smoother, quicker response. It’s paired with Bosch’s MSE 9.0 EFI system for precise throttle control.

Despite the larger engine, CFMoto has kept the weight in check; the 1000MT-X tips the scales at 199 kg (dry), only slightly more than the 800MT-X. The chassis remains familiar, built around a steel frame and a fully adjustable KYB suspension setup with 9 inches of travel. There’s also a “low-seat” version that drops the height from 34.3 to 32.7 inches, making it more accessible for shorter riders.
Braking is handled by Brembo hardware with dual 320mm discs up front and a single 260mm disc at the rear, both backed by cornering ABS. A 6-axis IMU from Bosch enables traction control and five riding modes, while Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels give it serious dual-purpose credentials.
The cockpit is dominated by a new 8-inch TFT display with smartphone-style clarity and control over all major systems. The 22.5-litre fuel tank promises over 450 km of range, perfect for long-distance touring. Standard kit includes cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter, heated grips, heated seat, adjustable windscreen and handlebars, and TPMS.

Two colour options are offered: Zephyr Blue and Tactical Green. CFMoto also showcased a one-off “Crafted” concept version with bronze-finished forks and satin-grey details, hinting at the model’s customisation potential. While there’s no official confirmation on an India launch. However, several reports have stated a possible re-entry of CFMoto to the Indian market, and the new 1000 MT-X could be a great fit for Indians stepping up from mid-capacity ADVs.
