Tata Motors is going to launch the Tata Punch EV facelift in India on February 20. It will be the first major update that the upcoming electric micro-SUV will get since it arrived on the market. The facelifted model focuses primarily on the exterior tweaks and with this, Tata aims to align the Punch EV's design more closely with its latest electric models. For those who don't know, the updated model has been already revealed before launch. The latest visual shared by the brand itself, offered a clear look at what has changed and what remains the same in terms of design. More Importantly, Tata has not positioned this update as a generational one, but instead, a cosmetic one. Here’s a detailed look at what to expect from the Tata Punch EV facelift.

Tata Punch EV Facelift: Updated Front Design
The biggest change, which is visible in the recent image shared by the brand, is at the front end of the Tata EV. Tata has worked on the nose of the vehicle making it more sharp and upright. Closed off grille gets even cleaner while bumper gets angular elements for a modern touch.
Tata Punch EV Facelift: Lighting Tweaks
The facelift brings with it only subtle changes to the lighting elements. The LED daytime running lights (DRLs) receive a signature design update, while the headlamps still make use of full-LED technology. The headlamp placement, though not by much, has been moved slightly to give better visual separation. The side profile is exactly the same, continuing to bear that identifiable squared-off silhouette. What Tata has done, however, is change the design of the alloy wheels so that they look much more contemporary than before without changing the wheel size at all. Rear design largely remains untouched with just a few minor cosmetic adjustments at best. All these cosmetic updates give the popular Tata EV an even more contemporary look without changing its overall proportions.
Tata Punch EV Facelift: Interior And Features
Within the cabin, Tata will not enforce any major visual changes. The dash layout, a 10.25-inch digital driver display and connected car technology are most likely from the outgoing model. Its other features like a wireless charger, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera will also be most probably retained. A new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit as well as a Level 2 ADAS package might be the new additions.
Tata Punch EV Facelift: Powertrain And Launch Expectations
Coming to the mechanical side of things, the Punch EV facelift will likely include the same set of battery options as before: a 25 kWh unit with 80 bhp and 114 Nm and a 35 kWh unit with 121 bhp and 190 Nm. Compared to rivals like the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3, the Tata Punch EV is positioned as a more practical electric SUV. It offers a larger battery and longer claimed range than the Comet EV, while sitting above the eC3 in terms of stance and packaging. Pricing is expected to reflect this middle-ground positioning.
Pricing and variant details will be announced at launch on February 20, when Tata is also expected to open bookings.

Why This Facelift Matters For Indian Buyers
To Indian buyers, such changes matter a lot since they add up to visual value with no effect whatsoever on the running cost or usability of the car. It is quite certain that the new looks will leave the Punch EV fresh enough within a fast-evolving electric vehicle (EV) market. Meanwhile, unaltered mechanics ensure that range expectations, charging habits, and ownership costs are all as predictable as old school urban drivers plus first-time EV customers find it an ideal choice.
