Triumph has expanded its modern-classic lineup in India with the launch of the new Thruxton 400, a bike that brings the café-racer spirit of the iconic Thruxton with a more approachable, middleweight package.
It is priced at Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
Triumph Thruxton 400: Colours
The motorcycle arrives in four dual-tone colour schemes. Buyers can choose from Lava Red Gloss/Aluminium Silver, Phantom Black/Aluminium Silver, Metallic Racing Yellow/Aluminium Silver, or Pearl Metallic White/Storm Grey.

Triumph Thruxton 400: Engine Specifications
At the core is a 398 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine running a 4-valve DOHC setup. Triumph has given it a healthy state of tune, sending out 42 hp at 9,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Power delivery is managed by Bosch EFI and an electronic throttle, while a stainless steel twin-skin exhaust adds a subtly sporty note. The motor is paired with a slip-and-assist clutch and a 6-speed gearbox.
Triumph Thruxton 400: Suspension
Under the retro bodywork sits a hybrid spine-and-perimeter tubular steel frame with a bolt-on subframe. The suspension setup is decidedly premium for the segment: a 43 mm USD big-piston fork offering 140 mm of travel at the front, and a gas-charged monoshock with an external reservoir and preload adjustment at the back. Triumph has matched this with cast aluminium wheels, 17 inches at both ends, wrapped in 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear tyres.
Triumph Thruxton 400: Seat Height
Braking hardware includes a 300 mm front disc with a radial four-piston calliper, and a 230 mm rear disc with a Brembo single-piston unit. Dual-channel ABS comes standard. The bike weighs 183 kg (wet), has a seat height of 795 mm, and carries a 13-litre fuel tank. Triumph claims a fuel consumption figure of 3.7 litres per 100 km, with emissions compliant with Euro 5+ norms.

Triumph Thruxton 400: Features
Despite its retro positioning, the Thruxton 400 XC comes well-equipped. The cockpit features an analogue speedometer paired with a multifunction LCD display. The bike also gets clip-on handlebars, ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, LED headlight, a sculpted fairing, Monza-style fuel cap, rearset footpegs, a painted bullet seat cowl, and a USB-C charging port.
Triumph Thruxton 400: Accessories
Triumph is also offering a wide list of factory accessories, including bar-end mirrors, heated grips, engine protectors, bullet-style LED indicators, a quilted seat, radiator guard, tank pads, and knee pads. The Thruxton 400 XC is backed by a two-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and 12-month/10,000-mile service intervals.
