It's an exciting time for Maruti Suzuki fans as the carmaker is expected to launch its first-ever Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) in India soon. The e Vitara will mark Maruti Suzuki's entry into the growing passenger EV segment and many car buyers are anxious to see how the country's largest carmaker does electric cars. With a mountain of expectations to cover, here's a quick look at the confirmed features that the new e Vitara will offer to customers over and above its claimed range of 543 km on a full charge.

Inside the e Vitara, we get to see probably the most futuristic Maruti Suzuki cabin yet. It gets a 10.25-inch driver information display and a 10.09-inch infotainment
touchscreen. Both screens are merged into a panoramic style housing to give the driver a uniform view and users also get the convenience of a wireless charger. In terms of audio experience, the e Vitara offers an Infinity by Harman system. Overall, Maruti Suzuki calls it the Digital Cockpit Experience and that includes the twin deck floating centre console, ambient lighting and the fixed glass roof.
Towards the driving part of the e Vitara, it offers multiple drive modes, including normal and sport. It also comes with brake regen and snow driving mode to offer more versatility across different scenarios. One key point of the electric SUV is its 5.2 metre turning radius.
In the safety department, the 7 airbags of the e Vitara are an interesting highlight, which includes the additional driver knee airbag. Then the electric SUV will also feature multiple Level 2 ADAS safety functions. The suite includes features such as lane keep assist, lane departure prevention, adaptive cruise control and rear cross traffic alert.
Other noteworthy features that customers will be happy to find inside the e Vitara include a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a 360-degree view camera, front and rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake and a brake hold function for ease of driving in heavy traffic.
