The recently announced GST reforms have been a boon for the budget-conscious car buyer, with economical car models now costing up to lakhs of rupees cheaper than before. From the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, now the most affordable car in India, to the Mahindra Thar Roxx. Cars in every segment have seen a substantial price cut since September 22, 2025.

However, affordable cars and their buyers are not the only ones who get to benefit from GST benefits. High-end luxury cars have also benefited from the unified 40 percent GST rate and the 10 percent average reduction on these high-value vehicles translates into significant price cuts. So significant that one could buy one of these luxury rides
and still have enough change to buy a Mahindra Thar Roxx. Here are five luxury cars that benefited the most under the new GST tax rates.
1. Mercedes-Benz S-Class 450 4MATIC - Rs 11 Lakh Price Cut:
The S-Class 450 4MATIC is considered to be the benchmark when it comes to German luxury saloons. Under the new GST reforms, Mercedes-Benz has announced that the S-Class 450 4MATIC will now be priced at Rs 1.88 crore ex-showroom. That is Rs 11 lakh less than the pre-GST 2.0 price tag of Rs 1.99 crore ex-showroom.
2. Land Rover Defender - Up To Rs 18.6 Lakh Cheaper:
The Defender is among the top-selling SUVs currently in the high-end luxury car segment. It has an extensive variant list and the recent GST price cut has brought down the base variant cost to under Rs 1 crore. With refreshed prices ranging between Rs 98 lakh to Rs 2.60 crore ex-showroom, the Defender variants are now cheaper between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 18.60 lakh.
3. BMW M8 Competition - Rs 13.6 Lakh Price Cut:
In the BMW India lineup, it is the M8 Competition performance coupe is the car that has seen the biggest price cut under GST 2.0. The carmaker has announced a price cut of Rs 13.6 lakh, taking the ex-showroom value of the M8 from Rs 2.52 crore to Rs 2.38 crore.
4. Range Rover SV LWB - Price Cut Of Rs 30.4 Lakh:
The flagship SUV from the JLR house of brands has seen a massive price drop for its top variant. The Range Rover SV LWB 4.4-litre has seen a drop of Rs 30.4 lakh in its ex-showroom price. This means that the pre-GST 2.0 price of Rs 4.55 crore has dropped to Rs 4.25 crore ex-showroom. The SV LWB 3.0-litre diesel has also seen a price cut of Rs 27.4 lakh and is now priced at Rs 3.83 crore ex-showroom.
5. Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC:
When discussing luxury SUVs, the GLA 450 4MATIC is a benchmark model that we cannot overlook. Under GST 2.0, the GLS 450 has also seen a significant price drop of Rs 10 lakh. The brand announced that the new price for the GLS 450 4MATIC variant is Rs 1.34 crore ex-showroom, instead of the earlier Rs 1.44 crore ex-showroom.
The refreshed prices for these high-end luxury models prove that the uniform GST rate on vehicles has not only benefited the budget car segments but the entire automotive industry as a whole. The only downside appears to be for the 350cc and above category of two-wheelers, which are now costlier under the new GST reforms.
