We are days away from entering 2026 and carmakers are geared up to introduce several new EV models in the country. From the electric counterpart to the newly launched Sierra SUV to Maruti Suzuki's first-ever Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) called the e Vitara. Here are five exciting EV launches that are scheduled to take place in 2026.
1. Tata Sierra EV:
The Sierra ICE has seen a promising response from customers with over 70,000 bookings made in the first 24 hours. It remains to be seen if Tata Motors will receive a similar response for the all-electric version of the Sierra, which is expected to launch in the second-half of 2026.
2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:
The highly anticipated e Vitara electric SUV is expected to be launched in India on January
2, 2026. It offers 543 km of claimed range and several segment-leading features such as Level 2 ADAS safety and a 5-star BNCAP safety rating.
3. Tata Punch EV:
The Punch EV is also due to get a facelift in 2026, the class-leading electric SUV currently offers multiple battery packs and Tata's Gen 2 EV platform. Tata Motors is expected to give the Punch EV a mid-life design, tech and equipment update and it will arrive after the launch of the Sierra EV.
4. Vinfast Limo Green:
Based on several spy shots circulating on social media, Vietnamese EV maker Vinfast is expected to launch its third EV model in India by February 2026. The Vinfast Limo Green would enter the electric MPV segment and go up against other existing rivals such as the Kia Clavis EV and the BYD eMAX 7.
5. Kia Syros EV:
Kia India is also expected to launch the all-electric version of its Syros family car in the Indian market next year, according to reports. The Syros takes an unconventional approach towards the premium family car with its futuristic styling, a host of hi-tech features and is likely to offer the option of multiple battery packs in its electric avatar. We expect the Syros EV to arrive in India in the second half of 2026.
