Norton Motorcycles, now under TVS Motor Company, has revealed the names of three new motorcycles ahead of their official debut at the EICMA show in Milan on 4 November 2023. The models: Manx, Manx R, and
Atlas, signal a major step in the revival of the historic British brand.
The Manx will be introduced as a naked bike, the Manx R as a sportbike, and the Atlas as an adventure motorcycle. Norton has confirmed these broad categories but has kept most technical details under wraps. The naming itself is significant: the original Norton Manx, produced between 1947 and 1962, was a racing legend on the Isle of Man TT circuit. The Atlas name, historically linked to a 745cc model made from 1962 to 1968, points to Norton’s entry into the increasingly popular adventure bike segment.

Since acquiring Norton in 2020, TVS Motor Company has invested around £200 million into the brand, focusing on streamlining operations and defining a clear strategy for the future. Interestingly, the new lineup does not feature the well-known Commando name, suggesting that Norton is consciously moving away from relying solely on nostalgia. While specific specifications and features are yet to be disclosed, the models are expected to offer a distinct experience.
