The Porsche Cayenne Electric (2025 model) has achieved a full 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, which is one of the most trusted car safety testing organisations in the world. This result confirms that
the Porsche electric SUV is not just fast and luxurious, but also one of the safest vehicles in its segment.
A 5-star rating in the NCAP is the highest possible score and is awarded only to cars that perform exceptionally well in both crash protection (passive safety) and accident prevention systems (active safety).
The Porsche Cayenne Electric scored best in all four major safety categories, as it achieved 91% in Adult Occupant Protection, which means it offers excellent protection for the driver and passengers during a crash. Child Occupant Protection stood at 89%, showing that the car is highly secure for young passengers as well.

This SUV also scored 81% for Vulnerable Road Users, which includes pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, which proves that the car’s safety systems can detect people outside the vehicle and help prevent accidents. In the Safety Assist category, which measures features like lane support and speed assistance, the Cayenne Electric scored 79%, a strong result for a performance-focused luxury SUV.
During Euro NCAP’s crash tests, the passenger cabin of the Cayenne Electric remained stable, especially in frontal offset crashes. The tests also proved good knee and leg protection for both the driver and front passenger. While driver chest compression was noted as slightly marginal in one full-width test, overall protection remained very strong.
One of the biggest highlights of this test was the side impact performance, where the Cayenne Electric scored maximum points, as it offered excellent protection in both side barrier and pole impact tests, which simulate severe real-world accidents.
Modern safety is not just about surviving a crash, but also about avoiding one altogether. The Cayenne Electric comes with advanced Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) systems that work effectively for pedestrians, cyclists and even motorcyclists. The system also detects “dooring” situations, where a cyclist might collide with an opening car door.
Standard safety features include lane support systems, speed assistance, and an advanced eCall feature, which automatically contacts emergency services after a serious crash.
Porsche has also focused on post-crash safety, an area many buyers overlook. The Cayenne Electric includes multi-collision braking, which helps prevent secondary crashes after an initial impact. Porsche also demonstrated that the doors can still be opened even if the vehicle becomes submerged in water, making rescue easier.
