Priced from Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) and available in 125cc and 150cc versions, the Officina 8 is aimed at buyers who see their scooter as more than daily transport. This is about design, history and lifestyle.
Vespa Officina History
To understand this scooter, you have to go back to Pontedera, Italy, 1944. Inside the Piaggio factory, there was a small experimental department called Officina 8. It was here that engineers and mechanics worked on early prototypes, constantly assembling and dismantling machines, testing parts and refining ideas. Those experiments eventually led to the birth of the first Vespa in 1946.So when Vespa uses the Officina 8 name today, it is not a marketing gimmick. It is a reference to the place where the brand’s DNA was shaped.
What Makes This Edition Different
At first glance, the biggest highlight is the matte metallic Blue Officina 8 colour. It is unlike the usual bright Vespa shades and is inspired by the industrial tools and workwear used in the original workshop. This scooter has metallic rivets, brass accents and aluminium-finish details.
