Maruti Suzuki has launched the Victoris in India as its new flagship SUV under the Arena network. Sharing its platform with the Grand Vitara, the Victoris is priced from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 19.98 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it squarely against the Hyundai Creta in the compact SUV segment.

While the Victoris is offered with petrol, CNG, and strong-hybrid powertrains, the Creta comes with petrol and diesel engines. For this comparison, we’re focusing only on the petrol variants of both models to see which is more fuel efficient.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris Petrol Mileage

The Victoris petrol variants use a 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid engine producing 101 hp and 139 Nm of torque. You get the choice of a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, or an all-wheel-drive option with

the automatic.

The Hyundai Creta petrol line-up includes two engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit and a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit.

1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (113 hp, 143.8 Nm)

1.5-litre turbo-petrol (157.5 hp, 253 Nm)

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris petrol variants clearly have an edge over the Hyundai Creta petrol range in terms of fuel efficiency, especially with the manual and automatic options. However, Creta’s turbo-petrol engine provides more performance with slightly lower efficiency.
