Honda Cars India is getting ready to refresh its model range in India with a slew of car launches. A mix of SUVs, electrified models and a refreshed version of its existing lineup are all on the way to strengthen the automaker's presence in the highly competitive Indian auto industry. From the all-new ZR-V Hybrid to the facelifted Elevate and Honda's first mass-market EV for India, here are the upcoming Honda cars that buyers should keep an eye on.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid
The ZR-V Hybrid, which made its debut last month, is expected to become the brand's flagship SUV in India. It will feature a 2.0-litre e strong hybrid system that consists of a naturally aspirated petrol engine and two electric motors. It develops 181hp and 315Nm, and is paired with an e-CVT automatic
transmission. Buyers are also likely to get multiple drive modes. Inside, the premium hybrid offering from Honda will have soft-touch materials, a digital driver's display, a large touchscreen infotainment system, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and a Bose premium audio system. In terms of safety, the upcoming Honda car will pack Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, ESC and TPMS.
The Honda ZR-V Hybrid could be priced between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) and is expected to rival premium SUVs like the Jeep Meridian, Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line and Skoda Kodiaq.
Honda Elevate Facelift
Another most anticipated Honda in India is an updated Elevate. Although the existing SUV is well-known for its practicality, the facelift is expected to add to its appeal with more features. The Elevate Facelift is likely to have the same overall shape, albeit with a few cosmetic upgrades such as a redesigned front fascia with updated LED lighting and revised bumpers. It could also get new alloy wheel designs and a subtly updated rear.
Inside the cabin, the focus is expected to be on adding more convenience. While Honda has not revealed details, you can expect an upgraded infotainment experience, additional connected car features, and improved safety equipment. Mechanically, the facelift is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 121hp and 145Nm with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. The updated Elevate prices are likely to range between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
Honda 0 Alpha
Honda is said to introduce its first mass-market electric SUV for India in 2027, based on the futuristic 0 Alpha concept. Unlike Honda's current models, the 0 Alpha is expected to follow a completely new approach in design. The production version is likely to keep the concept's styling, with elements such as a sleek LED lighting setup, aerodynamic alloy wheels, chiselled bodywork and an illuminated Honda badge. It may also feature a full-width LED light bar at the rear.
Honda has not given us a look at the interior, but the SUV is confirmed to embrace the brand's 'Thin, Light and Wise' design philosophy. So, buyers can expect roominess and improved packaging in terms of advanced features. The electric SUV is likely to be offered with multiple battery pack options. Pricing is expected to be in the range of Rs 17 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
