The mid-sized SUV segment in India could soon witness a fresh dose of exciting models, including nostalgic resurrection and an all-new generation of a successful SUV. The popular segment has been dominated
by South Korean brands for the last several years but competition is set to become more exciting in the coming weeks. That is because both international and domestic manufacturers are planning to bring in new SUVs to attract buyers towards them in a bid to capture a larger piece of the fast-growing mid-sized SUV segment.

While the excitement is high around domestic launches like the Tata Motors Sierra ICE and EV SUVs, South Korean carmaker Kia is expected to soon make the global debut of its all-new Seltos SUV. The new Seltos will rival the Sierra and other top-selling SUVs in the mid-sized segment, once it is launched in India sometime in 2026. The new generation of the Seltos has been spotted several times in India and the global debut is expected to take place in South Korea on December 10, 2025. Based on spy shots and new rivals, here are five big changes that you can expect in the next-generation Kia Seltos SUV.
1. Major Redesign Of Exterior For 2026 Kia Seltos:
The upcoming Seltos is expected to come with a major redesign for the front and rear of the SUV. This would be the biggest departure from the SUV's original design from when it was first launched in 2019. For the new generation, the Seltos is expected to graduate towards Kia's new design language, taking design cues from models such as the Kia Sorento and Sportage.
This would mean that the new Kia Seltos would feature a completely redesigned front end, complete with a new LED headlamp design and signature LED DRLs. The same refresh would take place at the rear design and lamp orientation and the side profile could get updates while keeping identical dimensions to the current SUV.
2. 2025 Kia Seltos All-New Cabin Design:
With a major exterior update, the 2026 Kia Seltos would also offer an all-new layout inside the cabin. We expect Kia to depart from the current layout and offer a more modern and minimalistic approach for the new interior. Among the highlights, a new D-cut steering wheel, dual-tone theme and other goodies like an upgraded audio system can be expected. Another expected highlight could be a dual-screen infinity setup for the driver information and infotainment touchscreen alongside a smaller 5-inch touch panel for climate controls, similar to what we have seen with the Syros.
3. Expected Features in 2026 Kia Seltos:
Along with the major redesign, we also expect some key additions to the already extensive features list of the Seltos. One big update could be the ventilated seats function for the rear passengers. Other features would include a 360-degree parking camera, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS safety functions.
4. 2026 Kia Seltos Expected Engine Options:
We expect the new Kia Seltos to continue offering multiple engine and transmission options to attract a wide set of buyers. Its arsenal already includes two petrol and one diesel engine option and three automatic and a manual gearbox option. These include NA petrol, turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engines as well as CVT, AT and DCT automatic transmissions.
5. The Kia Seltos Could Finally Go Electric:
While no details about the 2026 Kia Seltos have been confirmed, based on several spy shots and speculations, the South Korean brand could also launch an all-electric version of the Seltos very soon. The expectations are strong as the new SUV is expected to be based on a heavily updated platform and the fact that its sister SUV from Hyundai already has an all-electric version on sale. If launched, the Seltos EV would offer a more premium alternative to buyers of the Hyundai counterpart.
