While there are several high-tech options available in the electric scooter segment right now, not all are suited for family use or carrying a considerable amount of cargo. If you require a two-wheeler that fulfills these practical needs, then you may want to take a look at the River India Gen 3, which is now available in the Delhi NCR
region.
River Indie Gen 3 Scooter Highlights:
The Indie Gen 3 is River's first electric scooter for the Indian market. It is a Bengaluru-based EV startup that aims to offer an electric scooter that matches the needs of both families and riders who need to carry cargo.
The Indie Gen 3 electric scooter gets a modular design that can be retrofitted with an extensive list of attachments and accessories to increase its cargo-carrying capacity. It offers a 12-litre glove box and 43-litre of under-seat storage space for added practicality.
The scooter gets a pair of crash guards and rear pannier mounts that are integrated into the chassis and body panels. These offer a modern look and the utility of adding storage boxes and other accessories without any hassle. The flat and wide floorbed can be used to carry extra cargo, as the Indie offers an extra pair of foot pegs for the rider.
It also comes with a long and wide seat for extra room and comfort, along with convenience features such as two USB charging points, luggage hook, centre stand and a smartphone holder.
In terms of specification, the extra-load-oriented electric scooter gets a 4 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 161 km (IDC). The PMSM electric motor generates 4.5 kW (6 hp) continuous power and 6.7 kW (8.9 hp) of peak power and 26 Nm of torque. River claims that the scooter is rated to perform at up to an 18-degree incline. The Indie Gen 3 offers three riding modes (Eco, Ride, Rush) and has a top speed of 90 kmph. The 14-inch alloy wheel size for both the front and back is among other highlights of the electric scooter.
For the Gen 3, River has upgraded the Indie's tyres for better grip, the digital instrument cluster now gets integrated range and charging information and there have been improvements to the mobile app's integration, riding statistics and hill-hold assist system.
