Mahindra has officially announced that its all-new XEV 9S electric SUV will arrive on the Indian market on November 27, 2025. This highly anticipated model is the company's first all-electric three-row SUV, enhancing Mahindra’s electric vehicle (EV) portfolio under the Born Electric lineup. Just like the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 models built on INGLO (Indian Global) platform, this new XEV 9S is ready to lock horns with upcoming large electric SUVs in India. Mahindra XEV 9S EV: Design And Dimensions
The Mahindra XEV 9S is about to come in at 4.8 metres in length, hence superseding the XUV700. This SUV displays Mahindra's new global
design scheme, seen for the first time in the BE concept lineup. It has a very attractive closed grille with full-width LED lighting elements and a muscular upright stance. You can further expect chrome and matte accents, flush door handles, and aerodynamic alloy wheels. The XEV 9S will most probably arrive in both six- and seven-seat versions, making it a family-oriented electric SUV with premium looks on the outside.

The INGLO EV platform from Mahindra will underpin the XEV 9S, a platform engineered to support rear and all-wheel drivelines. Power is expected to range between 230 hp and 350 hp depending on variant and configuration. With batteries going up to 80 kWh, this electric car will go over an impressive driving range of about 450-500 km on a single full charge. Also, the XEV 9S would probably get quick charging support having an 800V architecture that would take less than 30 minutes for it to charge from DC fast charger from 0% up to 80%.

A triple-screen dashboard is expected for the XUV 9X that will merge driver display, infotainment, and passenger screens into one sleek wide housing, which is something also seen in BE.9 concept. It may get a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ventilated seats as well as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features with a 360-degree camera and wireless smartphone connectivity. Mahindra would probably use sustainable materials inside the cabin too since this falls in line with its Born Electric design philosophy.

As far as pricing is concerned, Mahindra will retail the XEV 9S between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and battery pack. Once launched, it go up head-to-head against the likes of the Kia EV9 and Volvo EX90 in the premium electric SUV segment.
