The much-awaited return of the Renault Duster has officially begun in India, as Renault India started nationwide deliveries of its new model. The first delivery took place in Chennai, making it a special moment for both the company and customers.
The first key handover was done by François Provost, along with Stephane Deblaise, to Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam. This marked not just a new delivery, but also the start of Renault’s next phase in India. The Renault Duster was one of the first SUVs that became popular in India for its strong build and practical design. Even today, many people remember it as a tough and reliable car.
With the new version, Renault is aiming to bring back that same trust while adding modern features and better comfort.
Early response from buyers shows strong interest, especially from those looking for a solid SUV for both city and highway use.
New Retail Experience with ‘new’R Store
Along with deliveries, Renault also opened a new showroom called the “new’R store” on Mount Road in Chennai. This is not a regular car showroom. It is designed to give customers a better and more interactive experience.

The store is spread across 4,500 square feet and includes a large display area where customers can explore up to five cars. There is also a special delivery zone to make handovers more memorable.
This is Renault’s second such store in Chennai and part of a bigger plan. The company already has 11 new’R stores across India and plans to expand this number to 70 soon.
Renault is not just focusing on selling cars but also on improving customer experience. Through its “Renault Forever” program, buyers can get coverage of up to 7 years or 1.5 lakh kilometers. This gives peace of mind, especially for first-time SUV buyers.
The timing of the Duster launch is important. Renault India recently reported a strong 77% growth in sales in March 2026. Models like the Renault Kiger and Renault Triber have been doing well, and the new Duster is expected to add further boost.
With deliveries now started and more showrooms opening, Renault is clearly trying to rebuild its position in the Indian market. For many SUV buyers, the Duster could once again become a trusted choice.
