The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric has been unveiled as the first fully electric version of the C-Class, with a claimed range of up to 762 km (WLTP). This marks a major shift for one of the brand’s core models, moving from petrol and hybrid setups to a dedicated EV platform. Built on an 800V architecture with a 94 kWh battery, the sedan focuses on extending range and reducing charging time. While global rollout will begin with select markets, further expansion is expected based on demand and regulations.
762 km Range, Battery And Charging Details
The highlight figure of the C-Class EV is the claimed 762 km driving range which comes from a 94 kWh battery pack paired with an 800V electrical system. This places it among the higher-range electric sedans currently revealed.
Charging is another
key area. The model supports DC fast charging of up to 330 kW, which allows it to add around 325 km of range in just 10 minutes under ideal conditions. A 10-80% charge is expected to take roughly 20-25 minutes. The car’s aerodynamic efficiency also plays a role, with a drag coefficient starting at 0.22. This helps improve overall energy consumption and contributes to the higher range figure.
Performance, Platform And Key Numbers
The electric C-Class is based on a dedicated EV platform which allows for better battery packaging and improved space. The initial C 400 4MATIC variant uses a dual-motor setup producing around 483 hp of maximum and 590 Nm of peak torque.
Performance figures reflect this setup, with 0-100 km/h coming in around 4.0 seconds. The model also uses a two-speed transmission on the rear axle, which helps balance acceleration and efficiency at different speeds.
Additional hardware includes rear-axle steering with up to 4.5 degrees of movement and adaptive air suspension. The turning circle is rated at around 11.2 metres, which improves manoeuvrability for a sedan of this size.

Design, Cabin And Practical Details
The design shifts towards a more aerodynamic profile, with a coupe-like roofline and smoother surfaces aimed at improving airflow. The front features an illuminated grille and updated LED lighting elements.
Inside, the cabin is centred around a large 39.1-inch display setup, integrating multiple screens into a single interface. The system supports over-the-air updates and AI-based functions.
In terms of practicality, the car offers a 470-litre boot along with a 101-litre front trunk. It also supports towing of up to 1,800 kg.
Overall, the focus is clear. The electric C-Class is built around range, charging speed and usable performance, rather than just transitioning an existing model to electric power.
