Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has become more affordable after a GST-linked revision, with prices now around Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This matters for Indian buyers because the change lowers the cost of entry into the performance bike segment without removing features. The update is tied to a shift to a smaller 349cc engine, which brings the bike under a lower tax bracket. While the price drop isn’t massive, the overall on-road cost has reduced more noticeably, making it easier to own compared to earlier versions.
Price Cut And GST Impact Explained
The key change here is not just the sticker price but how taxation affects overall cost. By moving from a 373cc engine to around 349cc, the Bajaj NS400Z now falls under a lower GST slab applicable to sub-350cc motorcycles.
As a result, the
ex-showroom price is now around Rs 1.80 lakh, compared to earlier pricing closer to Rs 1.93 lakh. The difference might seem small at first glance, but the bigger benefit comes in on-road savings. Lower GST also reduces registration and insurance costs, with total savings reported to be as high as Rs 20,000-Rs 24,500 depending on location.
For buyers, this is where the real value lies. The motorcycle itself hasn’t lost features, but ownership becomes slightly more affordable.
Engine, Performance And What Stays The Same
The updated NS400Z now uses a 349cc engine, replacing the earlier 373cc unit. Despite the reduction in displacement, performance remains largely similar, with output figures staying close to 40 PS.
Torque figures have seen a slight adjustment, but the bike continues to deliver strong mid-range performance suited for both city riding and highway use. The overall riding experience is not expected to change significantly.
Most of the hardware and features remain unchanged. The bike retains its core setup, which includes performance-focused components and modern electronics. This means buyers are not sacrificing equipment for the lower price.

What This Means For Buyers In India
This update is less about new features and more about smarter positioning. By bringing the NS400Z under a lower GST bracket, Bajaj has made it more competitive without redesigning the bike.
For Indian buyers, especially those looking at entry-level performance motorcycles, pricing plays a major role. Even a small reduction can make a difference in monthly EMIs and overall ownership cost.
In practical terms, the NS400Z now sits in a slightly more accessible position. It continues to offer similar performance while benefiting from lower taxation, which could influence buyers comparing it with other 300–400cc motorcycles in the same price range.
