Triumph Motorcycles has introduced its first electric motorcycles designed specifically for young riders. The new TXP-12 and TXP-16 models target children between the ages of three and seven, offering
an accessible entry point into motorcycling.
The TXP-12 is aimed at children aged three to five. Built on a lightweight steel frame, it weighs just 22.7 kilograms. The seat height can be adjusted between 360 mm in Trials mode and 445 mm in Explore mode, allowing younger riders to maintain control as they gain confidence. Power comes from a 600W brushless motor, with a top speed of 22.5 kmph. The focus is on smooth power delivery to help new riders learn balance and coordination safely.
For slightly older children aged five to seven, Triumph is offering the TXP-16. This version is fitted with a more powerful 765W motor that can reach speeds of up to 30 kilometres per hour. Unlike the smaller model, it features hydraulic disc brakes for stronger stopping performance, along with a scaled frame that provides greater stability. Both motorcycles share a modular design that lets children switch between seated and standing riding positions with ease.

Safety is central to the TXP series. Both models include adjustable power settings and PIN-protected speed controls, allowing parents to tailor performance as their child progresses. The electronics are waterproof to an IP67 rating, making the bikes suitable for different weather conditions. Triumph has also equipped the motorcycles with Field-Oriented Control (FOC) and Active Power Stabilisation (APS) technologies to ensure consistent power delivery, even as the battery charge runs low.
Nick Bloor, Chief Executive Officer of Triumph Motorcycles, described the launch as an important step for the company. “The TXP range represents an exciting new chapter for Triumph. By combining our off-road race-winning engineering experience with OSET’s proven electric trials expertise, we have created a product line that can empower the next generation of riders,” he said.
