Cars in India that are taller, more spacious, and offer a commanding road presence are seldom classified as SUVs. However, several manufacturers have now broadened the definition by introducing coupe-styled SUVs such as the Curvv and Fronx, along with hatchback-like proportions, like the Punch, which is marketed as a micro SUV. With this, the segment is flooded with a plethora of options across sizes and shapes. The demand of SUVs in India always remain red-hot with increase in middle-class income, expanding national highways, and a string of competitively priced new models coming in. According to reports, SUVs accounted for over 80% of total passenger vehicle volume growth in the first two months of 2026 alone. With that success as backdrop,
many manufacturers such as Maruti, Tata and MG are planning to introduce new and updated models in the segment. Here's look at six of the most anticipated upcoming SUVs in India in 2026.
