Harley-Davidson has expanded its 440cc lineup in India with the launch of the new X440 T, positioned as a more feature-rich and premium alternative to the standard X440. While both motorcycles share the same
engine and core mechanical setup, the differences lie in styling, comfort, and modern rider aids. The X440 T brings in noticeable upgrades aimed at improving everyday usability and riding confidence. So how exactly does it differ from the regular X440, and is the extra price justified? Let’s break down the key changes across design, features and overall value.

Same Engine, Same Mechanical Setup
At the heart of both the X440 and X440 T is the same 440cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces around 27.3 PS of power and 38 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Performance, acceleration and cruising ability remain identical on both motorcycles.
The chassis, suspension setup and braking hardware are also carried over unchanged. Both bikes use conventional telescopic front forks, twin rear shock absorbers and disc brakes on both wheels. This means real-world ride quality, handling behaviour and touring capability stay exactly the same across both versions.
Design And Visual Changes On The Harley-Davidson X440 T
The most noticeable updates on the X440 T are visual. The rear section gets a redesigned tail cowl that sits tighter over the rear wheel, giving the motorcycle a more compact and muscular stance. The seat profile is also revised for a cleaner look and better pillion support.
Another clear difference comes from the bar-end mirrors on the X440 T, replacing the conventional handlebar-mounted mirrors seen on the standard X440. The exhaust system also features a revised end cap and updated heat shield, while new graphics and fresh colour options further add to the T’s premium feel. Overall, the X440 T looks more refined and proportionate compared to the original bike.
Harley-Davidson X440 T Vs X440: New Rider Aids And Technology
This is where the X440 T gains a clear edge. It introduces ride-by-wire throttle, which enables two riding modes: Road and Rain. Along with this, the bike gets switchable traction control and switchable rear ABS. These electronic upgrades are not available on the standard X440.
These additions make the X440 T more adaptable to different road and weather conditions, offering better safety and riding confidence, especially for daily commuting and highway use.
