MG Motor India is all set to make a big entry in the Indian SUV market with their upcoming MG Majestor, which is scheduled to launch on February 12. The model has already been spotted testing, giving us
a clear preview of what MG is planning for the upper end of the SUV market.
A Bold New Step
With the Majestor, MG is also introducing a new “D+ SUV segment” in India and this category sits above existing SUV segments and represents a clear step-up in size, strength and capability. Vehicles in the D+ segment are designed with a focus on structural robustness, integrated safety systems and advanced driver assistance technologies.
Design
The MG Majestor’s design reflects its bold stance as it features a bold and upright SUV stance, highlighted by a large front grille, sharp LED headlamps and a wide, muscular bumper. From the side, the SUV looks imposing due to large alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches and a long wheelbase that hints at a roomy interior. At the rear, the Majestor gets LED taillamps and a clean, solid tailgate design.
Interior and Features
From the inside, the MG Majestor is expected to offer a spacious three-row cabin with likely highlights include a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, connected car technology and multiple USB charging points. It might also have premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, multi-zone climate control, and high-quality upholstery are also expected. On the safety front, higher variants are likely to come equipped with multiple airbags and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Engine and Seating Layout
The MG Majestor is expected to offer a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is possibly borrowed from MG’s international models. This engine is likely to be paired with manual and automatic transmission options. As a 7-seater, the Majestor will prioritise comfort across all rows. Higher trims may offer second-row captain seats. Foldable third-row seats should provide flexible boot space.
Expected Price
While MG Motor India has not officially revealed the pricing yet, the MG Majestor is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 25 lakh to 30 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing would place it competitively within the premium 7-seater SUV space, positioning it as an attractive alternative to established rivals.
What This Means Going Forward?
With its launch scheduled for February 12, the MG Majestor is set to enter a highly competitive space in the Indian SUV market. The MG Majestor will directly compete with popular and well-established rivals such as the Mahindra XUV7XO, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra Scorpio N. If priced competitively and backed by strong after-sales support, the Majestor could emerge as a strong and compelling alternative for buyers looking to upgrade to a larger, more capable family SUV.
